HORSE DAY

When is Horse Day?

Horse Days shall be held on the second weekend of most months. Check the Hidden Valley calendar on the web site which shall be updated soon for the exact dates.

Which group will I be in?

White Group (Beginners) – For adults and children. Please be at the round yard by 1.15pm on Saturday if you:

•    were in white group at the end of last year;

•    are looking to improve your confidence; and/or

•  are beginning to learn to ride.

Green and Red Groups (Intermediate) – For adults and children. Please see attached timetable to see what time your group is be at the round yard by on Sunday.

Blue and Purple Groups (Advanced) – For adults and children. Please see attached timetable to see what time your group is be at the round yard.

New Horse Day Attendees : You are welcome to join us.   Please contact Adam to find out which group you will be in.

What shall I wear?

This year we require all riders to wear

•  their own approved helmet;

•  riding boots with heels; and

•  the Hidden Valley t-shirt (which shall be on sale at the February Horse Day at a cost of $25).

•  If possible, please try and wear cream jodhpurs too.

How much does it cost?

Horse Days fees are $135 (annual registration) which allows riders to attend all Horse Days. Payment to be made in full by cash or cheque on Horse Day. There is also casual rate of $20 per rider per horseday (payable on the day).  

In addition if you need a company horse, the charge for hire of a Company horse is $10 per day per rider (payable on the day).

What shall I eat?

Lunch on Sunday is 12.00 to 1.00pm.   This is co-ordinated by the Social Club and run by members on a roster basis.   The BBQ roster shall provided on Horse Day.

What do I need to do if I want to come to Horse Days?

• Bookings are essential for all riders on privately and company owned horses.   A quick phone call to the office, leave a message, or send an email to say if you are coming (and your company horse preference) or not at least 7 days beforehand.   It’s very important that we know in advance as it is difficult to plan instructors etc if numbers are unknown.  
• Don’t forget to book a cabin as Saturday night of horse weekend is a good opportunity to get to know or catch up with fellow riders.
• All riders are asked to supply an adult helper on Horse days to assist with course set up, BBQ, timing etc.

If you cannot attend this first Horseday, but are intending to take part in other Horse days, please contact Adam to arrange some form of grading to be undertaken at another time.
