Social Events   Sporting Events
The New Year is usually celebrated with a dress up theme night. Past themes include a Medieval Night, Circus, A Space Odyssey, Wedding, New Years Evil and 'A Date in the Desert'.

The Queen's Birthday Weekend in June is highlighted with a monster bonfire complete with Gluhvein for the adults, hot Milo and marshmallows for the children. On Sunday a long trail ride into the upper reaches of the Valley (approx. 4 hours) with a BBQ lunch halfway is always very popular with Members.

Naturally Santa comes to Hidden Valley each Christmas but usually he arrives using a different mode of transport from the traditional reindeer! Games and a children's party are followed with Carols by Candlelight.

In recent years a formal dinner dance has been held by and for the teenagers and this has proved to be a popular event.

Fun nights for the kids are held during the School Holidays including Bingo, Talent Quests, and Video nights. Other events may include the popular Barn Dance and Camp Oven Cookout and the luxurious 'Ladies Pampering Weekend'.

For those who are interested in riding instruction, once a month we have 'Horse Weekend' when qualified instructors are engaged to carry out riding tuition for all levels of riders. The current format is as follows:

  • Saturday 2-4 pm beginners
  • Sunday 9-12.30 pm intermediate/advanced
  • 12.30 - 1.30 pm BBQ lunch
  • 1.30 - 3.30 pm Adults/Novice

On the fourth weekend of each month HV holds Trail Bike Club for enthusiasts young and old. Extra trails are available on this day to compliment the existing track.

Each Easter there is a Tennis Competition, the Hidden Valley Ambrose Golf tournament and Fun Runs for all ages. There is also an 'egg hunt' to keep the littlies happy!

During school holidays Horse Riding Camps are conducted with professional instructors to promote the improvement of riding and general horsemanship skills (see calendar for 2002 camps).

For the 'horsey' members, the annual Hidden Valley Gymkhana is the event where they can show the beauty and grace of their horses and test the skill and daring of their riding in a keenly competitive atmosphere.

Once a year Hidden Valley hosts a One Day Event including the NSW Mounted Police Event. See the Social Calendar for this years event.
